Gait/Running Performance

Our Easy 4 Step Process to Get You Back to Running Pain Free

What To Expect At Your Running Evaluation

Are you a runner looking to address a nagging overuse injury? Are you sick and tired of being sidelined from training? Do you want to understand more about your running gait mechanics with the goal of improved running economy/performance? Here at The Royal Treatment we are eager to help you perform at the highest level and promote pain free participation in your favorite activities for the long haul!

As many as 50% of active runners will experience a running related musculoskeletal injury annually. This can be due to a number of factors: training volume/load, footwear, running gait mechanics, strength/mobility deficits, and history of previous injuries are some things that can impact the chances of being sidelined from your training. Our goal is to educate you on the best way to address these factors preemptively to stay out on the trails!

Step 1: We begin with scheduling a phone call to ensure that we are the right fit for you! We want to learn more about your injury history and/or running goals in order to allow more time together for assessment and treatment at the initial evaluation.

Step 2: We will schedule your 90 minute evaluation which allows us the chance to complete a slow motion gait analysis, shoe wear pattern analysis and fit discussion, balance/coordination screen, detailed dynamometer muscle strength testing, range of motion/flexibility screening, and running readiness assessment screening. We then provide a breakdown of the key areas to reduce risk of injury, or ways to overcome a current injury to get you back to training sooner.

Step 3: Based on your video gait analysis, strength/mobility testing, and injury risk results we will provide a plan of care that will optimize your return to training, and initiate a program to progress towards your goals.

Step 4: Get stronger, get more mobile, and get back to living your best life!
