Dr. Andy Royalty

Dr. Andy Royalty, PT, DPT, TPI

Owner and Founder

Dr. Andy Royalty, PT, DPT, TPI is the owner and founder of The Royal Treatment Therapy & Performance, LLC. In 2010 Andy completed his Bachelors in Athletic Training and in 2014 his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Florida. Over the past 10 years he has worked in a variety of settings gaining knowledge and experience in collegiate sports, personal training, home health, and orthopedic sports medicine. As a physical therapist and certified Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 Medical Specialist, Andy uses his expertise in movement analysis, biomechanics, muscle imbalances, and manual therapy to optimize human performance. Andy believes that pain doesn’t always present itself in the area that needs to be treated; not only does he just treat the symptoms but looks to find the underlying cause that may be leading to the pain or dysfunction.

Dr. Matt Hoogland

Dr. Matt Hoogland, PT, DPT

Running and Gait Specialist

Dr. Matt Hoogland, PT, DPT is the running and gait specialist of The Royal Treatment Therapy & Performance. Matt completed his Bachelors of Science at Virginia Tech in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise in 2014 and in 2018 received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University. While attending Virginia Tech he participated in Division 1 NCAA Track and Field specializing in pole vault and decathlon. After earning his doctorate, Matt went on to complete his Functional Gait Specialist Certification in order to better serve his running clients.

He is passionate about helping individuals overcome their physical ailments utilizing evidence based treatments to help them back to peak form by addressing underlying factors contributing to the development of conditions by performing detailed assessments. In his free time Matt enjoys spending time with his wife exploring Richmonds restaurants and breweries, playing guitar, and running with his Dalmatian Brooks!
